I notice this button will bring phone to life if touched twice. Is there anyways to un-assign this so it does not wake phone up and open screen?

Which button are you talking about exactly?

I noticed sometimes the phone wakes up on its own, no text or anything just wakes up. I wonder if this is related.

That's a Samsung feature you can disable. I believe it's called quick glance.

If I have been helpful to you, please go to the store, buy a bunch of beer, and send it to my house.

Quick glance is a feature in which you yiu wave your hand over a sensor at the top of the phone. It briefly turns the screen on view missed call, text, and email. Is that what you experience?

The button Im talking about is the main kill button at the bottom of the phone, in my case, its says Verizon on it. I want it for task manager but I dont want it to wake my phone up and disable my screensaver...

The center "home" button?

You can re-enable the lockscreen in settings (so the home button doesn't send you to an active home screen), but you can't really disable the wake function, AFAIK.
