Kindle 3 tethering with EVO

I was wondering about USB tethering and the Kindle 3 Wi-fi edition. My EVO is currently running Froyo and is not rooted so wireless tethering is out, and I don't use it enough to warrant the $30 sprint package. So without root I can either use PDA.net or EasyTether via USB? Would I have to then tether my laptop to the EVO and then connect the Kindle via Wi-FI? Or is there some way to connect the Kindle to the EVO for direct tethering? Both are micro-usb cable sizes.

You need special software to use PDANET or Easy.

Root your phone and install Cyanogen mod and use built in usb + wifi tethering. It will take 20 minutes.

You cant root 2.2 yet

If you already did the OTA update then no there is not. If you had root access prior then you would be fine. This is why people need to root their phones when root is available not until they realize their phones suck without it.
