Kindle app disappears

I have a new Nook tablet. I have the Kindle app on the SD card. Every time I reboot, the app disappears and I have to reinstall. The data is still there in the folders in the Android folder , but the shortcut is gone from the home page and there is nothing in the files that resembles an app. When I try to send it back to internal memory, it tells me that there is not enough memory - but the size of the smaller than the memory left on the internal memory.
I can live Firefox without but I would really like the Kindle app.

I am not sure how, but the problem is fixed. I think it had something to do with re formatting the SD card.

Consider yourself lucky... I'd like to remove it from my phone completely, but its Verizon carrier bloat.
