Kindle downloads msg: " Will arrive on your device soonest."

I am trying to download apps on my Kindle. It only has the basics with: "download apps from other sources" allowable from the security menu. This blog gave me advice which just takes seems to take me up the proverbial garden path with a Goose chase thrown in for good measure. Why do others surf like a Swan through a mirrored lake when l always end up with wet shorts at the bottom crying for mother? Boo hoo.
