Does anyone know if you can run Google play without rooting on the kids fire kids edition?

Not without rooting it. I had been looking at getting my kids a Kindle Fire since the newest editions accept SD cards. I have searched Amazon forums, Android Central forums and just started looking at the forums on XDA.
I am invested in Android with 3 phones an original Nexus 7 (2012) tablet. I went with the Samsung Tab S2 8.0. The 9.7" was too big for me to carry around and pull out when I wanted it.
I am still considering the Kindle Fire 7 HD to control their usage more and just suck it on buying Amazon apps.
