KiNgxKernel #5 "It's Fixed"

Loaded up King's #5 and the battery life is great. Getting some jerkiness in rockplayer app (playing divx files) which is annoying. Hmmm.

No, it's not...

LOL. I literally laughed out loud. But this kernel is working just fine for me; battery life could is alright, getting about 10 hours on moderate usage and I really don't care how fast or slow it charges because I charge my phone every night.

I realize that some kernel/ROM combinations don't play well with each other. I was on the Desire HD port while using #5...and I was getting the same problems I had when I used #4 with Virtuous...it'd take two, three, four swipes to unlock the screen, hesitation when flipping through home screens, yada, yada. That, and my MOAB was draining at an alarming rate.

I know that ROM isn't anywhere near ready for prime time yet...but I was getting many of the same ill behaviors as I got out of #4. When I changed out to Adrynalyne's kernel, many of the problems went away.

You are using the Adrynalyne kernel he built for Virtuous, right?

Yep. I loaded a stock kernel just before I bailed on IncDoes' ROM. Most of the problems I had with King's Kernels in the past seem to disappear at the same time.

IncDoes' ROM doesn't have a camera and I got constant FCs with the HTC mail client, which I use to get my work's emails. I couldn't get the premium navigation program to work, and a few more issues, which is why I bailed on it.

I'll have to try it out, then.

Lol, I just realized I have identical specs as you (going by what's listed in your signature).

Great minds think alike, I guess,;)

I do a battery stats wipe before I install a new kernel...then I bump charge. My experience has been it takes two or three charging cycles for battery usage to settle out.

I was going to bed with about 60 percent of my battery after moderate usage once it settled out before.

Linpack and Quadrant scores are one thing. A stable phone is golden.

I'll be sure to do that.

And yep, stable is best. Performance is fantastic, but faster bootloops dont make bootloops anymore bearable ;)

Anyways, I'm on #5 but I've been a fan of adynalyne for a while.

I don't think it's performance unless it's stable. I think it's meaningless numbers.

And since these numbers will vary based on a lot of factors, they're really not an apples to apples comparison.

Loaded this on my DInc and I have to say that it is absolutely amazing. The jury is still out on battery usage but it should be noted that I have had no battery problems whatsoever since I got the 1750 battery. My phone performs almost as if its been overclocked. This is actually a really big deal and it needs to be more publicized. In my opinion, upgrading to this kernal is more of a leap forward for this phone than froyo was
