Android Central Question

Hello guys,

this morning I accidentally clicked on a malicious link inside the facebook app on my android phone. I usually would not fall for such obviously scam, but somehow it happened :(

I would like to know what's the best thing to do right now. I immediately changed my fb password and downloaded kaspersky internet security to check my phone. The next logical step would be to reset my phone, but maybe that's a bit exaggerated?

Anyway... the link inside the facebook app didn't ask me to enter any data - it did't look like a phishing website. I've heard that there are other dangers like drive-by-downloads. Sadly I don't really know much about security on android and I'm quite scared right now.

Any help is welcome and thanks in advance!

ps. I can share the link if that helps
pps. Sorry for bad english :)

If the link opened in the Facebook app's built-in browser, maybe also delete the browsing data. In the Facebook app, go to the hamburger menu (the three lines on the top) > Settings and Privacy on the bottom > Settings > Media and Contacts (also on the bottom) > Browser settings > tap clear next to browsing data.

If it opened in an external browser (e.g. Firefox, Vivaldi, Chrome), clear the data for that browser.

Consider turning on two-factor authentication (2FA). But be aware that if you lose access to your phone number or 2FA code generators, you might get locked out of your account. I'd suggest using Authy, since it can sync 2FA codes between multiple devices. Here's the support article for 2FA on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/help/148233965247823
