Korean Text Received Display Problem

I installed Google Korean IME and am able send and receive Korean messages in general.

I have a friend who has a HTC G2 (T-mobile) who has the same app. She can receive and read my Korean texts (SMS) but my EVO is not able to display her Korean text. Instead I only see ***

What's strange is that when she sends me messages through Google Talk, my phone is able to display Korean.

Anyone know why and a fix for it?

What text message app do you use?

I use the one that came with the EVO, which allows for the Google Korean IME to be used within it.
