That tablet was released over 9 years ago. Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0 is the only version officially released.

There may be some ROMs over at XDA, but none will support current or even recent enough apps to use it for much, given its age and lack of memory/storage.

That is an extremely ancient tablet, and was literally the first Android device I ever owned back 9 years ago. It has official updates, at least in the region the one I used to use many years ago cane from, up to Android 4.1.2. You still wouldn't be able to run anything new. Any Andeoid version prior to 5.0 is a basically asking for being a victim of a cyberattack. You can also hack this tablet to run anything up to Android 7.1 (further can't be done cause of a GPU compatibility issue that is one hell of a technical rabbit hole I won't bother with right now), but performance will be a huge issue. It has the slower 1GHz Texas Instruments OMAP 4430 chipset, one of the first dual-core smartphone chips ever made. It can be overclocked in my experience to 1.35GHz stable. 1.42GHz is only stable with very precise voltage adjustment and preferably an ice pack or other form of extreme cooling cause in my experience that processor will begin to internally short circuit and glitch out at ~100C causing the tablet to freeze even though the heat doesn't damage it yet. The GPU in that thing is the same one as in the Hummingbird chipset the very first Galaxy S had, just at a higher speed (but is on paper quite literally a 75-100 or more times weaker than what you will find mid to high end device today, and in real world use several hundred times weaker). It too can be overclocked but still, just like with the CPU, it won't get you much. This thing is too slow to even browse the modern internet, and has a useless 1GB of RAM. Even a cheapo $20 "smart" flip phone running KaiOS is a ton more powerful than this.

If the above is too much, the short story is that it is time to get a new tablet and replace that 9 year old snail.

Edit: the version I had was a slightly different variant of the Tab 2 than what OP has, specifically the 7 inch GT-P3110.
