Lag, anyone?

First of all, I really like this device; it actually got me off a Note 8 (I didn't use the Pen as often as I thought since I purchased a surface pro to do the same).

Regardless, I am getting lag through the system, which is something I haven't really had on an Android phone since the GS7.

Looking at memory usage, Android on its own uses over 25% of the memory available, and apps like Maps are using several hundred MBs each.

When I clear the apps running, it seems to help right away, but I am looking to see if anyone else has any other workarounds, as I haven't had to worry about clearing memory on an Android device in what feels like ages.

Any tips?

I don't know but mine runs buttery smooth.
I love my device.
Samsung in other hand was always lagging

My best guess, you have a rogue app that is causing issues; part of why clearing the apps fixes the lag (until the app restarts). You might see, from your battery usage, if there is an app using a high percentage of the battery; if so, there is a good chance that is the one causing the lag.

I'd factory reset it. I've had two of these phones bc I switched colors and they have had absolutely zero lag. Prob just a bug.

On the nougat builds I was encountering performance issues like random freezing, jank but it's much better on the Oreo beta build. Not close to pixel good but definitely acceptable for top tier phone. I'm guessing by Oreo public release and probably an update or two after that it should be buttery smooth using in any circumstances.
