Is it normal for Sony Xperia u to lagg?
Everytime I open an app or just wanna send a text I lagg and usually my phone freezes for afew seconds.

Has it lagged since day one? I think it may be time for a factory reset (backup your data) or at a minimum, wipe cache. That should get your device back into good shape, as far as performance goes.

Also check your internal memory, you might be running out of space and sometimes this becomes the reason for lags.

Yeah ever since I got it, it has been lagging. I have alot of room left on the phone and have updated my phone twice, the second time was to repair my phone too see if it was the way I updated my phone that causes it to lagg alot.

This section might be hidden on some phones, but it’s very easy to access. On many phones, you just have to open a certain page in the settings and tap a button seven times. Use Google to figure out how to enable Developer options on your phone if it’s currently hidden (for example, search “enable developer options HTC One”).

Once you have access to Developer options, simply scroll until you find the following three settings, which may be located on the main screen or within an “Advanced” subsection:

Window animation scale

Transition animation scale

Animator animation scale

Tapping each of the three aforementioned settings will reveal that it’s set to “1x” by default. If you want to speed up your phone or tablet dramatically, simply change each of those three settings to “.5x” — that’s it.

Yes, I have the same exact problem.

I had the phone for around 2 years in January and I really want a new phone , because it lags so much. My Xperia U freezes atleast 3 times every day and I have to take the battery out , just to get it working properly.

So it's not your phone that happens , its mine aswell.
