Laggy text message screen

Im very satisfied with the speed of the thunderbolt, but Im constantly annoyed by laggyness coming in and out of text message conversations...any fixes for this? EX. sometimes it takes a while (few seconds) for my conversations to open and close etc.. I dont really want to have to delete my conversations, but Im guessing this would help.

wait to you get a ton in there it will take like 10 sec to open and close...

only fix i found was to delete them sux

I have noticed that keep a large amounts of messages will sometimes make the app running a little slower so cleaning them up won't hurt. You could also try handcent or another third party app for texting maybe you will have better speed. If all else fails try clearing cache in applictions settings.

I don't know if this will help but I always lag when sending and receiving text messages while my charger is plugged in. It also lags for me to go from home screen to home screen. But when I remove the charger it's back to normal.

thanks for the tips guys, im just gonna cap my conversations at 120 messages, see how that helps...I have a few feally long ones that are probably causing the lag

I just spoke to a Verizon Store guy last night and asking about this issue... I asked if he had heard about ANY issues and he said "the only issues I've heard about is with the texting being slow..." He also said (something along the lines of), "this issue has been sent to Verizon as an official complaint and problem, and they ARE working on it." The update of course will come 'across the air' to our phones when they get a fix.
So I'm sure we can use the temporary battery-out and restart options to get through till they get a fix.

Thanks Seth... All this reading and trouble shooting, is a lot to take in but it is fun; and besides the the testing lag, which really aggrevates me, I am anxious for the GB updates that may help with some of these issues.

I'm using chompSMS.. and is there anyway to just have the txt messages disabled on the stock message program and only sent to the 3rd party? I know blackberry had an option when i was using crunchSMS
