Landscape Mode on Home Screen

I am wondering if anyone has figured out how to get the GNex into landscape mode when it is on the home screen. I found a thread that mentions a launcher. I really don't want a launcher.

Is there like a mock dock app maybe? I have it in landscape mode on my desk to be able to charge, and would like the screen to rotate. I bought the spare battery with the desk charger, and the only way for it to hold the phone and charge it, seems to be landscape mode. Now I know why it was on sale. :-\

Yup. Personally, I turn it off, but i can definitely see why the OP wants it.

Well if you ever change your mind, I can say that Nova--even with that cube thing--is pretty slick. I turned the cube rotation off b/c I think it's a bit silly, but still, it's worked very well.

Nova is awesome. It looks so much like stock you'll forget its there.

Root your phone, use Gummy 0.7.0 Imoseyon 1.7.1. Works great.

did you decide what to do? There's no need for unlocking and rooting just to use nova launcher. If you need the apk. Pm me and I'll email it to you. Here's a screenshot of nova.

Obviously you can customize everything but mainly just showing you how stock it looks. You also have the option to group as many as 7 icons on the launcher as well as a side scroll capability. There's a lot more included.
