Landscape Mode

There are some screens that won't go to Landscape Mode. The Home screen is one, and there are two particular banking apps i use that won't go landscape. Is there an extra setting to get these to do that or are some screens and some apps just not designed for Landscape?

My home screens go into landscape no problem.
There are apps that do not support landscape though. There used to be apps that would force landscape, but if the app didn't support landscape it usually looked really bad.
