Landscape Typing Lag

When I try to type in landscape on the phone it has a significant lag and takes a few seconds to catch up. It is annoying when you don't feel the positive vibration when you hit the key. Does anyone have a solution for this issue?

I'm interested as well, as I experienced the same thing. I have not yet tried an alternate keyboard, but I may give a few a shot.

I have a similar issue. I've heard that 4.0.3 fixes it. I'm sure it will be fixed in time as it's clearly a software issue and there is no such lag in portrait mode.

I'm also experincing this problem. Quite annoying when haptic feeback is enabled. Have not tried any other keyboards though.

Go to settings > Language & input > Next to the Android keyboard is a settings icon, select that. Uncheck Popup on keypress. Under Advanced uncheck some of those options that may be irrelevant, Suggest Contact names etc. That should help a bit although typing in forums is still slightly laggy.

But I love thumb keyboard.

I think I've seen others who have had the problem use another keyboard and the problem went away. So, I too think it's a software issue. However, I had the issue happen to me in portrait mode. This was while I was writing a rather lengthy email. It started out fine, but as I got near the end of the email, it started lagging considerably - I'd type a few words and then wait 5-10 seconds for the actual characters (and haptic feedback) to display.

I really only notice the major lag when using Tapatalk. However that means that there is probably a little bit of an issue with the software, so hopefully that is fixed in 4.0.3.

I'm on 4.0.3 but don't use tapatalk. And I have those options disabled to increase keyboard speed, even on third party keyboards.

the problem is with autocorrect. For whatever reason, autocorrect slows the landscape keyboard down but not the protrait mode one. If you cant deal with the slowdown, go to settings, > language and input and disable spelling corrections. Lag free typing ahoy!

But you have to correct your own mistakes, so you decide whats more important.

EDIT: Yes, there is a fix for this in the works AFAIK.

Thank you, I downloaded the trial of Swiftkey X free and it seemed to have fixed my problem.
