Last night's update corrupted phone, locked out...ideas?

An update rolled out last night, I enabled when I went to bed, upon waking up the Verizon boot screen was up and nothing was happening. I tried the volume down/home/power button to shut down, nothing. Tried reboot to safe mode and nothing. Tried to restart normally and nothing. Last option is factory reset but I figured I'd check here first before I go that route.

Any ideas?
 
Are you able to force a shutdown (hold Power and Vol Down for about 15 seconds) and then boot into Recovery?
 
No...can't do any of the 4 options except a FDR which I'm doing now. Tried my VZ rep, they conferenced a Samsung rep, tried a cache partition wipe and couldn't even get to the menu.

They though it was a package corruption but really didn't have any idea why it happened.

FDR and hopefully good to go soon.
