Latest evo 4g update (newbie)

ok so i finaly got a evo a few weeks ago and sofar ive gotten great battery life about 14hr with a few hours a music. But it reboted while in school and said it has a update and i was told that the battery life sucked after the update. Also that pandora and the front camera dosnt work, i have to problem with the front camera i rarly ever use it but i LOVE pandora i use it about 4 hours a day lisitn to music so its basicly a must. Also did the 30fps cap lifted from the phone and dose that make the battery drain faster or is there a app that i can use to limit the fps to about 35 or so on a non rooted phone?

Updated kernel battery drain could be form a number of changes made by HTC.
Best bet is to root your device enjoy what it has to offer performance & battery wise.
Lots of good stuff your missing

well i realy dont want to root the phone right now i might at a later date but right now im wondering should i do the update or wait a few days thanks for you answer tho ill give the root a thought or two!

increased Fps does drain the battery quicker.
no app will limit the phone's Frame rate. you're out of luck. sorry

Root is your best bet/only option at this point

The front camera and pandora are fine.

The increased fps does drain some battery but if you're listening to pandora with the screen off it literally shouldn't make any difference.

I've actually had the complete opposite effects. My Pandora and camera work fine, and I get better battery life after the update.. So, I guess it varies?
