Is Google now the reason the battery has been so bad since the last update? Not that I'd turn it of, but hopefully this fixes it when it lands (if it's even for my version).

Gsam will tell you which apps are using battery, and how much. If you have to have Google Now (tried it, didn't do anything for me except show junk I had no interest in) that might be an option for you. Regardless, you can't be using that type of app and expect it won' suck the battery down.

I never noticed any change in my battery on either one of my two S7 Edge. I updated both of mine. This is the second update this month. Still says May 1 security update.

Still on April security in the UK even on an unlocked phone. Not sure why they haven't pushed us any updates for a while when I keep reading about updates coming out elsewhere

GSam tells you very little when you're not rooted. Gave me no more info than the battery settings menu. All my drain shows up as Android System.

Okay, you must have a different version than I, as mine shows a lot of data with lots of detail. Whatever.

I agree. When android system is the main drainer, gsam gives absolutely no useful information at all to try and pin down what it might be

It can't tell you what's keeping your phone awake, which would be the only useful info it could show over the settings menu. Both show Android System with no further useful information on what is actually causing the drain.

My guess is that with this update they might bundle in the May Security Patch in there seeing that it weighs over 300mb.
