Have you done a Factory Reset?

Peace. Alan

My V10 is still working great. You may indeed want to do a factory reset and see if that offers any improvement. The joys of Android.

What version did you install, so the rest of us can avoid it? Also, did the update to all the apps complete? It appears that then trailing app update is what makes for a slowdown...

I had to send it back to LG to have it flashed back to Marshmallow with security update 7-1-16.

Then the stupid thing forced the update to 9-1-16 in the middle of the night about two nights ago.

Now phone services drain the battery in less than an hour.

Not sending it back again to be without for a week and then it force itself to update again.

I'm running the t-mobile version of the same release, with good results. There was a several hours long process where the phone was updating all the apps. Could be that you have one or more apps with issues. A reboot would be the first step.

Whoa.

I am really getting sick and tired of dealing with Android manufacturers.

Not one of them available here in the States makes a unit that will last the two years. Most won't even make the one year.

LG - not 1
Samsung - not 1
HTC - not 6 months
Moto - not 2

And forget updates. Every single one screws the device five ways from Sunday. And now they will force those updates down your throat with no input from you.

I'm about to go back to a basic texting phone and say forget the whole system.

It just ain't ready for human consumption yet.

Not true. I used my Note 3 for 2 years and now my son has been using it almost a year with no issues. My wife's old Galaxy S5 is still going strong. She used it for a couple years and now my other son is using it. Still no issues. Actually all my past android phones are still working with mostly cosmetic issues. This phone is my first LG phone and I'm not sure if I'll stay with them or not. This is my 3rd V10...1st was returned due to overheating, 2nd was returned due to back button not functioning correctly. Now my warranty is up so I'm stuck with this one. In my experience, for the most part, android phones seem to last the length of the contract at least. Your mileage may vary!

I'll second this. The V10 is my third android phone. My first was a Droid X which I kept almost exactly 2 years. I would have kept it longer but I wanted to get one more upgrade before VZW dropped unlimited support. Then I got a Samsung S3 which I kept near 4 years. I got the V10 to switch to Tmobile. All of my phones have been great. I've (knock on wood) never had any real issues with my phones.

There are five of us that use Android devices.
2 HTC First's
1 Moto Atrix
2 Moto X's (1 gen)
2 SGS3'S
2 SGNote Edge's
1 SGNote 4
2 SGS6Activ's
1 LgG3
1LgG4
1LgV10

Only the Motorola X's lasted almost two years. If they didn't have permanent batteries I could have changed them and it would have been fine. No one makes a battery that lasts two years. NO. ONE.

All of the other phones didn't last a year without major warranty service needed. And no we are not any harder on our phones than others. They have cases and glass screen protectors and have never broken a screen.
