So I noticed that you can't change the phone/applications/home touch buttons on the launch bar. This seems silly since there is already a home button below the touchscreen. Would I be able to install a custom theme that would change or eliminate the launch bar? Ideally I'd like to eliminate the home screen altogether and just have the apps front and center.

You can change the launcher bar to whatever you want, except for the last one that is the app drawer. I also saw alot of the reviews and the reviewers stated they couldn't be changed, but have since corrected those reviews to show they can be changed.

And as far as eliminating and just showing apps on the home screen.......its called an iphone..... :p kidding :) i guess you could just place all your apps straight on the home screens if you chose to want that look.

That's what I meant when I referred to the phone/applications/home touch buttons. The middle two buttons can be customized, but the phone button will always be there (which I'm cool with). And the applications button, which changes to "home" when in the app menu, can't be changed. Again this seems silly when there is a "home" button on the hardware of the phone.

that's what I thought, but again there would still be an "applications" button on the launch bar when I have all my apps already displayed, which would be redundant.

And I guess I'd also have to eliminate the search widget on the home screen since they decided to include on on the phone's hardware. the phone isn't even out yet and i'm already stressed out trying to optimize its efficiency. maybe i should see someone about that...:p

Aahhhh true that my friend, but its only the app drawer that can not be changed, the first 3 can be whatever you would like them, phone included... and I understand what you mean about the home button in the app drawer being redundant with the hardware home button on the phone, but we do need the app to be there becase there is no app hardware button :) and if you end up just filling your home up with just your apps, you will have no room for widgets, which are the best part of Android :) you also have a ton of other options as far as launchers, such as Launcher Pro and ADW launcher, I'm completely confident you will be able to customize to get it exactly the way you want it. :)
