Launcher pro on the X uninstall question

I used Go Launcher for about a month. That is until I started getting a bunch of force closures and no response from the developers. I refuse to use apps where the developers can't even be bothered to show basic courtesy.

And Launcher Pro is also free if you do not want to use the pay version. There are only minor differences between the two. I'll take it a step further, it is not as buggy as Go Launcher is either.

I've been using LPP+ for awhile and I love it. But lately, when I'm on the browser and I press "home" it keeps restarting LPP+. Has anyone else had this issue and/or know how to fix it? Thanks!

Try a battery pull (battery out, wait a full minute, reinstall battery, turn on). If that doesn't settle LPP down, have you loaded a new app recently that coincides to when this problem started? It really sounds like an app conflict. You may need to uninstall that app.

Also, check in Settings > applications > manage applications > Downloads > Launcher Pro > clear cache. This will sort of give it a fresh start on your X.

If none of these seem to answer the problem, you might have to uninstall and re-install LPP. When I updated the X's operating system to Froyo, I had to do this because of repeated forced closures and it fixed things.

ok so launcher pro is just a skin to lay over my stock X and i can remove it at any time. does adw and go launcher work the same way? none of these apps will permanently replace or delete my stock launcher, right? are adw and go launcher also a skin or are they more of an actual app?

All 3rd party launchers work the same way. None of these will remove your stock launcher. They all are basically "skins", and you can remove them at any time.

ok well i went ahead and started my launcher experience. i'll work my way through them and see what works best for me. these are really cool!!! thanks everyone for taking the time to help out the new guy and answer my questions. android central is a great forum.

Thanks! The other night after I posted that, I tried a good ole fashioned reboot, and since then it's been running smooth. I'm guessing it was fighting with an app and needed the crap cleaned off - but it did the trick!
