Hey everyone, new to Android and androidcentral. Love my G2!

Got a question about a problem I am in. Water got on my new G2. Only the upper portion got wet. I immediately removed the battery and then dried it off. Next I stuck it in rice and let it sit for 2 days to completely dry out. Booted it up today and everything works, except the screen is now damaged. Completely usable just some vertical lines and discoloration.

So here are my options, and my questions.

1) Buy a replacement LCD for 50 and fix it myself, voiding the warranty sticker.

2) Send it in to T-mobile on warranty, since the LDI on the battery and inside cover are white, showing no water damage.

3) Send it to Assurion and replace it for 130 deductible.

Questions are, will Assurion accept it if I do #1 but then, for example, later on drop it and it smashes to pieces? Because the sticker is broken?

Or is there LDI inside the phone I can't see without taking it apart, as well as the type of damage to the screen obviously water damage and as such T-mobile will charge me out of warranty if I send it in?

Thanks for the help!

They may or may not be able to tell it's water damage. Technically I think they are supposed to go by the LDI's. That's how it is at AT&T, but T-Mobile could be different. Definitely don't void the warranty by breaking the sticker.

I would take it to a T-Mobile corporate store and have them do the insurance claim for you. That way if they say no you can still do insurance through asurion. But I'm pretty sure they will warranty it to you since the LDI's are white.
