learned words

I'm trying to delete a learned word. I've tried the long hold to bring up the confirm delete box, nothing. Is there another way to do this?

Try going on other applications randomly and seeing if it works there (Ex. Go to safari and open your keyboard and long press a word and see if it works there, go to messenger and see if it works there, go to Facebook and see if it works there, etc).. Or restart your phone, and try again.. I haven't found a different method of approaching this issue besides long press.
