This is my first attempt at a watch band Mod.
The rivet pattern is a little off, and I had to widen the slots for the Gear band, but I am the only one scrutinizing the workmanship.
I got the band from Amazon, $24, the quality is as it should have been, not too stiff, dry, or cracked, as some other reviewers mentioned.
I bought a leather hole punch kit $10 and a bag of "Rivets" $10. At the local craft store. The rivets snap together, are weak, and I will be looking for something less likely to fall apart, or I will fill them with epoxy.
I bought a spare OEM band, also on Amazon, for $20. Just in case I ruined the band.
I wanted a large thick, Leather band, and I am happy with how this came out.
Hopefully I will find an opportunity to wear it, as I am not ready to trash it at work.
Also, the heart rate sensor will not work, as there is no hole to see through, and I think the watch might be too far off my skin anyway. Not that I check much anyway, but it would be easy to remove the watch holder strap that I left in as extra padding, and cut out the snap, to make a window, if I decide I want it.
Happy Crafting!

Honestly, I didn't source anybody else's opinion when I chose the strap.
I probably would have disregarded what they said anyway.
Just like when I bought the watch.

Originally, I wanted a big, mean, black, Biker or Goth looking band, but I didn't like what I was seeing. I am happy with the execution, not completely satisfied with my choice of band, but now I can take my time and find the right one.

I chose this brown one because it did not have any extra weaving or designs to collect dirt.
I also like how it works with my "tan", makes me think of summer, and sandals at the beach.
Working 7 days a week, I have not gotten to the beach, and probably won't this season. My consolation is working outside, at my own pace. But, Dirty! So Very Dirty and sweaty.
I generally only wear the watch for about 5 hours a day, total, because I have to take it off soo much.

Kudos!! Hope you get it done, I've been looking for one far and wide and can't find anything, I contacted a leather tanner in Isreal whom I bought a really nice leather case for my Note edge, but he wouldn't make one for the Gear S. I've also contacted several other tanners local in the US and they are looking into it, but thus far you are the only one that seems interested. let me know how it comes out, post back here!!! Good luck and once again, don't give up, KUDOS!!!
