Well I recently acquired a friends old iPhone 3GS. And I'm thinking is it a good idea for me to leave the Optimus behind for the 3GS. I know I won't be using Virgin Mobile anymore... Any thoughts?! This is scary!!!

My sister got lured into an iphone maybe a year and a half ago. She had a samsung android phone before that. She's now waiting for her contract to expire so she can get an android phone again. Not just because of the experience but price wise she went from sprint to at&t.

I would trade the iphone for an android and flash it to virgin mobile

a friend of mine went with at&t and the iphone 3GS. bad mistake. it was charge after charge for everything. i helped set the iphone up for her and she enjoyed it at first. until it came time to use a few apps. almost everything had a price. rarely was an app either free or for that matter had a respectable trial period before buying. transfering music was a nightmare, every aspect was or seemed to be controlled by apple. unlike with an android where even unrooted you have pretty much total control, the iphone was another beast completely. ended up getting her another android in the end. i wont suggest not using the iphone. it has a niche market of people that really enjoy it and find it useful for their needs. so you may find it a great device also. hard to say.

Unless you want to pay 3x more a month and have to pay for everything. Sell it for 150ish and get a one v

My Hipster apple fanboy friends swear by their iPhones. But they will also complain about iTunes deleting all of their stuff while syncing all the time, or driving all the way to Spokane (142 miles away) to go to the nearest apple store every time their phone messes up. I love android, because you can fix it your self and you are not leashed to iTunes. Syncing is a pain the ass. but iPhones do have goods qualities. Its all apples and oranges and I happen to like oranges

I can relate to this. I would say do it if it was the 4 or 4S, but the 3GS is slowww. It's a laggy phone, not to mention problems that pbailey already mentioned.

HTC one v > iPhone 3gs in every aspect.. and specs. Free music too..

Well I would use straight talk as the carrier. It works well in my area. And I really am thinking of maybe just going for the One V then. Hows the battery life though since its not interchangeable. Neither is the 3GS :O

The one v is a good phone with a great battery. My wife doesn't even complain about hers, and she complains about everything

Not really.. I mean there's apps on the marketplace. If it was that illegal google would have to take them off. I'm just saying just overall.. if you want simplicity get the iphone

No I'm pretty sure those apps that offer free music downloads are pirate apps. Google just isn't the best at removing stuff like that. Most of the apps are "ringtone" apps anyway, but they're easy ways to download pirated music.

It doesn't really matter they're are hundreds of music downloading apps and websites like [removed].. no point in paying 1.29$ a song like really? Maybe .10 cents a song max
