LectureNotes by Acadoid - what happened?

I loved this app! I've been using it for years - to teach, to record mini tutorials, it's been essential for me. But today I noticed I can no longer import pdf and can no longer record videos. The app itself seems to be no longer available on the Play Store.

Does anyone know what happened? Have a solution? An alternative? I'll be lost without it.

Welcome to Android Central! There are a few reasons why an app might be removed from the Play Store -- it might violate terms of service, it might no longer be supported by the developer, it might have been flagged by a user for some issue (like being a fake or a ripoff of another app), or it might be stuck as a 32 bit app, and the device you're using might only support 64 bit apps. The best thing to do would be to send an email to the developer and ask them. If you can't contact the dev, then there's a good chance they're no longer around, and therefore the app was pulled.

Is this the same app? https://play.google.com/store/search?q=lecturenotes&c=apps

Thanks for the reply.
No, that's not the same app.

It was an excellent note-taking app with lots of extra features, it really was a superb teaching tool and had been around for years. See here

For me, the most useful parts were
import of pdfs
layer tools
writing and drawing options
ability to record video tutorials

The last update I have was from May 2023 and it was working perfectly in June this year- not sure what might have happened since then to make some of the features unavailable.

I'm hoping it might still work on an older device I have but won't be able to check for a while.

Thanks

The app is still on my deivce and I've seen it on the Amazon app store, but it's the same version I already have. There is (or was) a free version but mine was the paid for version.

Some of the features have stopped working in the past few motnhs, despite no new updates. Is it possible that an update to android OS has made it unusable?

My problem is solved!

I'm not sure why, but this is what I did. I did not re-install, I just clicked on each of the separate add-on icons (PDF view, Lecture recordings and LectureVideos - these are all also made by acadoid to give extra functionality to the app and have to be used within it, not independently.

Once I'd done that, all the functions re-appeared.

Happy! (But anxious because one day it might really disappear for good and that's not something I'd ever worried about before ....)

That's great news!👍

Hopefully, you can back up your paid version app in case of a snag down the line.
I'm guessing you already have a backup cause you mentioned that you reinstalled it.

😀
