LED Indicator While Charging

Does anybody know any way to disable the steady Red/Green LED indicator while it's plugged in and charging??

I'd like to be able to see notification flashes while on my desk, and it seems kind of pointless having an LED if it's just going to remain on while charging (which it probably will always be while it's at my work or home desk).

I'm surprised that when it's charging, you don't see any flashing green notifications. Either they only have a single bi-color LED or they forgot to code it so it will alternate when notices occur during charging.

Anyone know if 2.2 will allow this feature or maybe rooting will help?
