There's really nowhere to put it anymore now that the bezels are so small.

The led went away with the Galaxy 10 series

Some people seem to think so...I'm not one of them. I use AOD and turn on the edge lighting for notifications.

The last smartphone flagship line that had LED notifications that I know of was the Pixel 2 line.
