I'm trying to get my flashing LED working and not having any luck. Prior to 2.2, the Pulse Notification Light setting was unchecked on my phone and the option was checked on my wife's phone. When 2.2 was released the menus changed and there is no Pulse Notification Light setting to check. I have searched the various forums and it appears that the LED settings are now controlled by the applications and there isn't a global setting.
My wife's phone continues to flash when she gets text messages and emails, but my phone does not. I have recently purchasead Touchdown and there is a setting to enable lights, but it doesn't work for me. I have contacted Sprint support and after being passed around for quite some time, the technical support folks told me that my only option was to perform a factory reset to 2.1, then enable Pulse Notifications and then upgrade back to 2.2.
Does anyone know if the information given to me by Sprint is correct? It sounds strange to me that a master setting in 2.1 would still come into play when a new OS is delivered that turns over control to the various applications that can utilize the LED. If this really is true, I would think the installation of 2.2 would have been smart enough to enable the LED so you could turn it on in the apps.
If it is true that control of the LED is now handled by the application, then I'm not sure why my wife's phone is still working fine. If I go into her stock messaging app and/or gmail app, there is no setting for the LED.
When I use the dialer code *#0*# and select LED, the first this is OFF. I know the LED is not broken because it works when charging and when selecting Red and Blue using the dialer code.
