okay so i plugged in my charger about 1am, went to sleep. woke up in the middle of the night and it was fully charged so i took it off, woke up a few hours later and it wouldnt turn on so i plugged it back in. ive had this phone for two weeks today. its my 4th gs3. now i can plug it in and power it on and itll stay on maybe two secs then turn off and go back to the screen where it shows how full the battery is while charging. it will not power on at all. idk whats wrong :( HELP PLZZ

i tried going to target to bring it back. but i needed the box to return it and i went and threw the box out with my fall cleaning spree about a week ago so i guess i have to try to reboot/restore it. if that doesnt work, go to samsung directly. gotta drive about an hour there.

You have att correct? You've had the phone less than a year? Att can get you a replacement device for free. They honor the one year warranty at no charge to you. They'll ship you a replacement with a return box/pad to return the defective model. You can also go to an ATT repair center if you have near you and they'll exchange it.

Requirements:

1: make sure device doesn't have any physical damage such as dings or heavy/deep scratches.

2. Water damage indicator sticker is white still.

3. Have a valid att account and patience. :)

Optionally you could also go to Samsung but they'll have you wait days to weeks to process the repair and such and free as well but the att route will be faster.

I know how that feels! Just be sure to let them know your att phone is having hardware issues with it staying powered on. They might try to waste your time asking you to perform hard resets. All goes well they'll have a replacement model to you by Tuesday or Wednesday since its the weekend. :)

Why?? I've been charging my phones overnight for the last 15+ years and I suspect many people do the same when they goto bed.

Of course you can charge your phone overnight. I too have been doing that for years without any problems whatsoever. I don't think charging it overnight is what killed the O.P.'s phone. Just a bad phone. It just so happens that it went bad while being charged overnight.

Perhaps the battery is bad. If your phone doesn't stay on unless the charger is connected, then it is the battery. Buy a replacement, no need to go through all that hassle.

not the battery ive tried two different batteries both in working condition. no damage whatsoever. the phone is messed up idk mfr error or something...i did a factory reset and reboot. now it shows the android guy with a red triangle and a ! inside it....when i plug it in, it stays on the screen where it shows the big battery bar and how full it is.... =/
