Lens App on G7

Hi everybody,

When I got my G7 about couple weeks ago phone gave me notifications about updating a bunch of apps. One of them was Lens (I assume it is Google camera app). I also got two more updates for this app during first two weeks.

When I try to start Lens I get this message:

Thanks for updating. Lens will be available soon.

Please try again later

Anybody else has this app on their G7 and gets this message?

Though I can see a Lens app in settings, I don't have Lens icon. I do have Google Lens as part of my phone app, and when I click on it, it works fine no messages like you are seeing.

I have Lens listed in App info settings, and I have Lens icon in my app drawer.

And what do you mean when you say "I do have Google Lens as part of my phone app"?

Is it different than what I have on my G7?

I think he meant "camera app".

OK, I figured it out. Google Lens was not working on my G7 because I had Google app disabled.
I confused Google Lens with Google Camera.


Apparently Google Lens is AI thingy. Both are disabled now.
