Let the debate begin...International or ATT GNote?

Not worth the extra (prob $300 or so) for the international version. Even though I am not currently in a LTE market, I will be eventually and I will want that speed. For those that say AT&T will fill it with bloatware, just mod it however you want and move on.

The processor will not make that big of a difference IMHO and I think people need to chill out a bit on those specs, it's fast and will prob be faster once ICS hits.

I also could care less about having one main button over the four, not a deal breaker for me. I can't wait!

If you are up for contract renewal it is probably a no brainer to go for the ATT version. How about International GNote owners or those who will have to go off contract?

I bought early off contract amd not regretting it. They still haven't said anything about release date. Obviously it will be a better deal on contract, but not of it is over $300. I do appreciate the lack of bloat and faster updates. I also like the home button to turn on the screen. Why do the carriers insist on changing stuff? At least it looks like they only physically changed the buttons. LTE would be nice occasionally, but I am happy with better battery life and would probably never use it. I have been off contract for 18 months, but since my wife just renewed I probably will just get an iPhone or something to sell as a subsidy for my note purchase.

I'm curious about the battery life. I have the international version and speeds are decent! With faster downloads the battery life will suffer.... But I'm curious to what extent.
Currently happy with no contract, bloatware, and looking forward to ICS soon.
If you have an update coming save the money! But report back on the battery! Currently I get 15 hours with good usage!

I bought the international version. No other choice for me, because my contract is not up and also I need an unlocked phone for traveling overseas.

I will be going at&t because my upgrade is up and no GNexus for us. There is a small chance the Skyrocket HD or Ion if they are out before the Note and are truly impressive.

Regardless I am waiting for reviews on the Note LTE before I purchase. Just in case of horrendous battery life or some other dark secrets we do not know about yet.

If you get the International version, there seems to already be a lot of accessories for it. Like a car dock, screen protectors, cases etc. which may or may not fit the AT&T version.

I'm in the same boat, upgrading from an Infuse to either the Note, Ion, or Skyrocket HD. Just not sure if I want the Sony software on the Ion.

It'll fit, the only changes were internally, not the outside.

I assume the LTE version coming to Telus up here in Canada will be the same as what AT&T will be getting. That said, I chose to order an international version despite the impending option to order an LTE through a carrier. Maybe it's just me, but for my needs I don't find HSPA(+) to be lacking, and I don't want to be with the carrier that will be offering it.

The ATT version has been approved through the FCC. Should be coming soon. If it was launching with ICS, I might be interested. I have received 3 updates on my GNote since Christmas (German model) and I know that will not be the case for the ATT version. Heck, I cannot even get ATT to fix the useless Bluetooth on my skyrocket.

Agreed the international Note will have better support since Samsung doesn't have to wait for ATTs approval. Other than that it's pretty much an even toss up. Due for an upgrade wait for the LTE ATT version if not probably better off getting the international one.

I just ordered my GT-N7000 from Amazon. I know I'm paying too much by buying it now, but my N1 is getting old and I've been putting this off for 2 weeks since I first read about the Note. On Amazon I saw 67 five star ratings and only one outlier. It was just too hard to say all those people were wrong. I'm sure I will be very happy. It meets every single thing I had on my wish list for a phone. It should come Jan 31.
I chose not to go with ATT because almost all my internet use is wifi so the LTE wasn't as desirable as a faster processor. From my history with my N1 which I rooted and installed CM7 I'm more comfortable with a phone that I own and am at liberty to mod at will(I do case mods as well).
Anyway, I am really looking forward to having it in my hand.

I would wait for the AT&T note just for the LTE. That's just me though. I have a vivid and LTE speeds are ridiculously fast. Otherwise if you use it on AT&T I believe you will only get 3g. If that is ok with you then by all means go with international version.

My AT&T contract is nearly up, but I still opted for the international version. It came down to a few things for me:

1. The Note is a flagship device for Samsung right now. They have been giving it a lot of support. I want access to those regular updates.
2. I live in Portland, Maine. None of the carriers have 4G here yet, and with as far behind as AT&T is, I don't expect them to bring it here in the next 18 months, so I might as well get the physical home button and faster processor.
3. Unlocked devices tend to hold their resale better, which makes it easier to unload when the next big thing shows up...
4. After months of reading reviews and watching YouTube videos, I just couldn't wait anymore!
5. It's nice not having a contract.

Mine's still in UPS's hands. I should have it by the end of the week. Freakishly excited.

I am one of those 67 and you will love your Galaxy Note! Congrats!

I'll bet you do. I ordered mine From amazon on Saturday night. It shipped Monday morning, but it's gotta go from Cali to Maine, so I'm not going to get it until next Monday. The anticipation is like being a kid the week before Christmas....
