Let the price gouging start

Not only are they gouging on Ebay but be sure to read closely, half or more of them are pre orders shipping in 2 weeks.

Yea, these guys are going to easily make at least 300 or more off some poor schmuck who can't wait.

That's a great sign, as far as I'm concerned. It means the tablet's in demand, meaning that once Asus can ramp up production these things should be flying off the shelves. THAT means that analysts and such should shut up about there really only being an iPad market, not a tablet market, and developers who've held back from making Honeycomb apps should jump back on the bandwagon.

It's a little bit of short-term pain (having to wait) for quite a bit of long-term gain (a more viable market). Whether they meant to or not, Asus has created some welcome hype around unmet demand. That's a good thing if your objective is a successful Android tablet market.

And you're still out the door for less than a Xoom.

Yeah, a 16gb Transformer at $10 less than a 32gb Xoom. Awesome. By the time you add the $150 keyboard, you've spent $729 for a 16gb wifi tablet.

its ok man, you just bought the wrong product. Thats the way tech works, you buy the latest and greatest only to have it be bested a month later for a lower price.

He actually does have a point. One of the big things about the transformer is that by the time you get the dock, you still only are paying $550 (and taxes) vs paying $600 for a wifi only xoom with a non functional microsd slot. So paying roughly $730 for a transformer & dock isn't so much an option anymore when you can just buy a xoom (and pray moto fixes the sd card issue) and use a bluetooth keyboard.

The Transformer is considerably more than a Xoom with a BT keyboard. The IPS screen is great, the dock is not just a keyboard but a port replicator with an extended battery and provides SD card and USB support. The combined dock and tablet unit folds up like a netbook for easy carrying and fits into a standard notebook case. The dock's battery charging is smart and charges the battery in the tablet first and then when that is filled charges the battery in the dock. This ensures you can grab the tablet off the dock and be assured the tablet is as charged as it can be.

You know you don't *have* to buy the dock with the transformer, right?

You can buy the transformer by itself, ...with the functioning microSD slot.

If I felt that way, I would return it. I've only had it ten days and absolutely love it. I feel like i'm in an Apple forum with all the people bashing other devices. Also, let me know when the Transformer gets 4g...or even 3g. ;-)
