LG doesn't care about unlocked phones in the USA.

I am using an unlocked LG V30 on the T-Mobile network. The phone is appx 1 year old. I have been advised by LG that no updates have been released in the USA, since March 2018 for these phones. However, T-Mobile advises that they have issued a few updates to customers that bought a "locked" phone from them, and that I must get updates from LG directly. LG advised me that they have no new updates for my "unlocked" phone. I was told by an LG rep that I could bring my phone to a LG repair center, but that they may not be able to assist with this and/or that any "forced" updates installed may cause operating issues.

Any ideas as to how to get LG to issue the updates?

No, they said they won't. Unless you buy more than 51% of the company's shares, you can't "force" them to do anything. But you can look in https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-v30 to see of anyone has a captured update file. ("Captured" because update files delete themselves after updating the phone.)

LG doesn't care about their phones period. You buy LG because you like what it offers out of the box. When you expect more from LG, you'll get nothing but disappointment.

I think unlocked phones in general get neglected. Samsung and LG both seem bad at keeping their unlocked models upgraded vs their carrier models.
