LG G Watch & Samsung Galaxy S3

I'm asking this basic question for a friend because neither her nor I can seem to find an answer and this forum is THE best place I could think to ask.

She has a Samsung Galaxy S3 phone and wanted to get the LG G watch. Will she be able to reply to text messages via voice commands on the LG G watch with it paired with her S3?

Does the s3 run android 4.3? (minimum for android wear) They may have to switch to a different sms client (hangouts, 8sms). Also, I believe the reply will have to be initiated by touching the screen but then the reply itself can be dictated by voice.

Yes, the S3 is running 4.4.2 actually.

I don't see it being a issue. My s5 runs 4.4.4 and it works well so I don't see there being a problem with the s3.

Thanks Umass021...Do you use the standard samsung text message app?

Yes stock app. I just say the commands and reply. A few people had a issue with a piece of tape covering the mic hole but mine didn't. They use tape around the outside of the watch when you first take it out to protect it.
