LG G2 - Best way to back up before messing with the phone?

I got my G2 set to my pleasing, but I want to experiment with a few things, apps, modifications, etc.. (not rooting it) especially see if I can fix the jittery scroll performance. (Thank God, no touch screen problem so far, and knock on off works fine)
Is there anyway I can get a snapshot of the current phone, save it in some sort of image for recovery later on (without rooting)? I really don't want to have to go through all my customizations, disabled/removed apps, and have to download all these stuff and set them up (especially work stuff).

The G2 comes with backup software out of the box. I don't own the device yet so I don't know all that much about it, but you should be able to back almost everything up with it.

I have to check this out, because like I said it would be hell of a pain to setup everything from scratch. I actually want to do a factory restore first try a few things, get to bottom of this glitchy scroll problem, and if it doesn't have much difference, I will just restore from backup.

I did not even realize that this phone had this feature until just now:

Settings>Backup & Restore>LG Backup Service:

Tobad vzw removed that feature

Wow, awesome, did you try it? What kind of back up does it create? I gotta check that in the morning.. I tucked mine in (maybe I will go get it now) I hope it creates a single file we can keep on the computer.
PS: your image post is not showing pictures, like lsat time you posted pictures. Is it due to URL tag or maybe you need to post using IMG tag?
Can anyone else see tsells's links on his post?

This is the 2nd time it happened to me, I gotta check if something is blocking photobucket from being hotlinked here.. I can't see his pictures and worst of all I have no idea unless I quote his post.. He may have posted some cool pictures somewhere, and I would have no clue.. They only show up after I click on his links (maybe photobucket had a hiccup)

I can see his images just fine

Not sure why you are not seeing the images, as I see the images on my computer, phone, and tablet. (And so does Moosc in above post.)
Could it be some kind of spam filter or "pop-up block" that you have?
How are you reading this forum? Website? If so, what browser are you using?
Are you using the AC app?
Are you on your computer or on phone?

I was on computer. I will check the blocker settings. I see them fine now on Tapatalk.

I'm curious as to how the back up on the phone works. I did a few backups on my first G2. Had to get that one replaced. So of course I assumed that when I logged in to the back up account, I could reinstall everything to the new phone. Sadly that didn't work. So now I'm wondering what the point is to backing up?? When would you use it and how would you do the re-install if you got a replacement phone?

I don't think it's meant for transferring data from one to another device, it probably has a way of checking if it is the same phone or not. I will run the back up to see what kind of file it creates, but I am not ready to jump and factory reset my phone and try to recover..
There is another setting "Quick Transfer" but that doesn't seem to transfer actual app data.

Also in Back Up it specifically says if other phone is associated with a different google account, it wont fully restore.

I just created a backup, it created a 365MB single file. Does it some kind of magic compression technique or is it partial backup I can't tell, but I am not going to rely on it and take a chance with factory reset unless absolutely necessary.

Isn't there any other 3rd party tools/utilities to create a full phone image without rooting the device? Can't we use CWM without rooting?

Thanks, but this looks similar to what LG offers out of the box, as well as Titanium Back up, it is not really different than normal application and settings backup rather than a system snapshot or back up image for restoration.

Thanks for the suggestion, though.

Requires no root, just backs apps and there settings

So anyone find a reliable backup? The LG one is junk. What's the point of it? These androids kick ***, but Apple trumps them with the icloud feature. It seems like people break or get new phones every year, so some kind of a cloud based backup and restore is a must.

Rooting and using twrp seems to be the best way, but sadly rooting means messing up with the phone.
