Lg G2 died for no reason.

My week old LG G2 with 80% battery life just died as I was plugging it into the charger. Will not turn back on, and no charging indicator light. Tried to reset and it won't do anything. Cant get to the battery...........any help would be great.

Try holding the power button and volume down button for 5 or 10 seconds to see if it boots

I just had the same problem as the above user. This definitely worked...but why? What happened to my phone and what does the power button and volume together do? What is that command? Please help me understand. Thank you!
