Afternoon folks, long time reader, first time poster.

Anywho, bought the G2 on launch day trading up from a Galaxy Nexus, love it so far! Couple of small issues though:

When plugging a Auxiliary cord from the phone into my cars radio, it will at times randomly seem to disconnect the headphone input, so audio stops playing out of the car and comes back out of the phone speaker. I've tried a couple different cords, seems to be the same result. Additionally, not sure if its related, if i take a phone call after the cord has been disconnected, the people on the other end of the call seem to think I'm in a tunnel and only turning on speakerphone lets them hear me. Once I reboot the phone, everything works fine.

Anyone else having these issues?

Welcome to Android Central! Did you make sure there wasn't any lint or debris in the headphone jack? Use a damp toothpick to root around, or use a can of compressed air to blow it out.

I would say you have a cord problem at hand. Try another music player and see if the same thing happens.

Re: Headphone jack issue?

I just ordered what will be my third G2, the first one has a headphone jack problem after about two months, the second one lastede about two weeks. Both with exactly the same symptoms, plug in headphones and the phone recognizes them, but after a slight jiggle of the cord and they lose the connection. You see the headphone indicator spastically coming on and off while you turn or jiggle the headphone wire. Seems like a short in the jack iteself. Otherwise I've loved the phone, but this is a deal killer for me. If the third one does it I'm going to flip out. Too much of a pain to reload all my apps every couple months.

Hi
I have a similar problem.
Just bought a LG g2, but now i cant use it without headset.

It behaves as there always is a headset connected, and therefore i cant speak and no sound.

The telephone is one week old :-(

Has anyone encountered this problem

Re: Headphone jack issue?

st_pinetree, I am in a nearly identical situation. My first LG G2 lasted 2 months before running into the same audio input issue. Second one lasted exactly 3 weeks and is even worse than the first.

Was the third time a charm for you? Also, were you using the stock LG experience or did you load a custom ROM onto your phone?

Re: Headphone jack issue?

Had the same problem with the headphone jack. On my second phone, hopefully it doesn't act up because Lg makes you pay for shipping:mad:

Re: Headphone jack issue?

I have the same issue. Has anybody tried repairing it through a repair shop or LG? What was the price quote?

Re: Headphone jack issue?

Well I thought I had the same problem every one is speaking of in this thread. But I just realized something. Try this... I never knew that the connection at the bottom of the phone in relationship to the plug is supposed to be flush. Push it into the phone harder than you think you need to, and it will "snap" in. Problem solved. Once again, push the cord into the phone harder than you think is necessary and I believe your problem will be solved. Anyway, it worked for me.

Re: Headphone jack issue?

I had mine repaired through lg. it's still in warranty for everyone, so it should be free of charge for the replacement they'll give you

THAT'S IT !!!!

Thanks, so much, to the poster who said the headphone jack needs to be pushed in HARDER (and further) than you expect.
/ Until the jack is **fully** in, and **none** of the metal part of the headphone jack is showing.

That is the fix.

My headphones now work...
I'm all better now.
