I was ok with the battery life of my g3 until couple of days ago, i used to unplug from charger before i go to bed and and the battery drain was less than 4% until i wake up.

now i'm getting 30% of battery drain during the night with screen time on is 0.

any suggestions?

Yes, it IS amusing when that happens, isn't it? I think we've all been there. I find that a simple Soft Reset fixes it, presumably by stopping in its tracks whatever it is in Android System that's temporarily misbehaving. Or perhaps you've tried..?

Re: "Android System" huge battery drain

I just had it again the other day. I just restart my phone and it goes back to normal. It's just like your PC/MAC where it should get rebooted on a semi regular basis. Apps misbehave, memory leaks, etc.

I've had this same issue before. It can make a 15-20% difference in battery life.

Re: "Android System" huge battery drain

Unfortunately, Android System will mask a lot of what is really going on there. I take it you are unrooted. Much of that on the Android System screen is bloatware.

Your battery life really isnt bad. Try turning on WiFi. Another vital app I have been using is Autosync2 to disable Google's untimely syncing when I'm away from WiFi and a power source.

Re: "Android System" huge battery drain

I usually let my phone die than I charge it, so I must have done at least 3 soft resets but strangely none of them fixed my problem.

too bad that i just getting started enjoying my g3 :(

You may care to try Settings, Apps, All, scroll to Android System, select Force Stop, then Power Off and Restart the phone.

You didn't switch to ART did you? My stand-by battery life went really down like that once I switched to ART.

Re: "Android System" huge battery drain

nope i never changed. i'm using stock, no root no launcher nothing...

Re: "Android System" huge battery drain

Everything that runs under android system is shown under "Included Packages"
I see you still have Carrier IQ (CIQ) installed, get rooted and get rid of that A.S.A.P.
Carrier IQ is the LADDM apk. That crap runs constantly.

I actually switched to ART because I'd run our of idea's as to how to solve my battery drain issues and was getting desperate.

It was only this morning, so early days, but it seems to have worked.
Immediately went from losing 10% an hour on stand by to more like 2 or 3.

I'm Dutch. Can you please tell me what ART is?
My LG g3 battery is draining most of the time 10% every hour while he is closed and the screen is off!.
Android needs the most 60-70% battery in a day. So when I do nothing the battery drains fast.
Help!

Welcome to AC and the G3 forum.☺
