LG G3 charging so slowly

I've had my G3 for about a year and a half and it's great. I don't have problems with fast drainage or battery life...but lately am having huge problems with my charger.

The original charger broke randomly a few months ago. at first it worked at angles but now it gives no charge. I shared with my boyfriend's phone charger (he has an old Xperia Z from 2013) and that to this day charges my phone very fast. After some fiddling with the cable I realised it was the usb cable that was damaged, so I figured I should look into replacing the cable.

I could not find my official white charger from LG online anywhere so I bought first of all a Raspberry Pi charger since its stats implied it should charge my phone just as fast or faster than my official charger (a tech guy also told me the same but I don't know who was wrong here..) It charged slower than plugging a usb cable to laptop. I returned it and tried again.
Next I bought some regular old usb-micro usb cables from ebay, a pack of 5. They were cheap but fine. They work, but...they barely charge my phone at all. I have to leave it overnight for any significant increase, and if I use the phone while it's charging it STILL GOES DOWN. For example today at work I plugged my phone in at about 54% (11am-ish) and used my phone on and off for 4 hours and it was nearly dead by 3pm. I bought a new cable since (same price on a single cable) and same problem. I tried using a couple of different random different bases and cables all to no avail. It takes at least 6 hours to get to full charge. I'm going nuts.

I can't test my theory since my boyfriend moved out so I can't use his phone cables easily (gotta charge his own phone ya feel) but I remember using his usb cable in my LG charger base and it worked fine. So I don't understand.

Someone please tell me what to do as this is driving me nuts!!!

Re: LG G3 charging so slowly

Welcome to AC.

It could be that the connector inside the phone USB port is damaged or dirty, or that there is damage to the circuitry associated with that inside the phone.
