LG G3 Issues

2 months ago i got an lg g3 on a plan with telstra. It is an international model. I have been experiencing massive lag on the home screen, phone over heats regularly (even just writing this article brings my phone up 40°C), and when i unlock my phone or leave an app to go to the home screen, all my apps and widgets lag out and refresh. I also have lollipop 5.0 and i am all upto date, please help nothing i have found helps me...

Welcome to Android Central.

What are the things that you've tried so far? Did any of them have any effect at all?
Also, have you considered returning the device to Telstra and asking for a replacement?

I have tried many boosters and cleaners but the only thing that helped me was cooler master. It brought me temp from 40°C to 15-30°C, never exeding 30. Which is great. But all the other boosters just seem to slow everthing down.

People have been saying i should factory reset but,

1). Will I be able to back my phone up and keep all game data?

2). What does backing the phone up actually save?

3). All i need now is atleast a fix my my widgets and apps to make them not take 4 seconds to fully load when ever I return home, it also lags unless I swipe it around for a couple of seconds.

I also forgot to mention that i cant return it as I am on a 2 year contract with no insurance. They said if it breaks they cant do anything about it. But im not sure if they will replace if it is just lag issues.
