lg g3 knock on disabled but still turning on???

I have already disabled the knock on feature, but the phone is still turning on in my pocket, the main issues I have with that, is the battery dying too quickly and the phone overheating to the point where its uncomfortable and I have to take the phone out and manually turn it off so it can cool down, any suggestions, anything else I can do so it doesn't turn on, without leaving it off completely? Pls and thank you
