Hello all. The main reason I bought this phone was for the camera, and I'm having problems with it. First of all, it loses random pictures that I take. It's like it picks the ones it doesn't like and they disappear, or the preview is there but you click to view the pic you get gray screen with a triangle on it.
The second problem is that when I take a video and try to play it back, it plays at first but then later it will tell me the file type is not supported. How can it not be supported by the device that took the video?
Anyway, I've had these issues from day one with this phone. I looked around the forum a bit but couldn't find anything on this. Thanks in advance for any help.

Welcome to Android Central! Are the photos and videos saving to Internal Storage or to an external microSD card?

They are saved to a MicroSD card. I meant to mention that in the original post. I have used 2 brand new cards with the same result.

SD cards can be problematic--sometimes it's the card, and sometimes it's the interface. We seem to see more problems on these forums with Samsung devices, but it can occur with any device.

Where did you get these brand new SD cards? From a bricks-and-mortar electronics store, or online? Counterfeit cards are still a problem, so it's possible that the cards you have are not high quality.

I bought 2 of these from Amazon. 1 for my tablet and 1 for the phone. I even switched them to see if it was the card but I suppose it still could be the problem.

I would recommend that you try Samsung cards. And if buying from amazon make sure that it is sold by Amazon and not a third party

While I agree that it could be the card, I'm pretty sure it did this to me before I received the card and installed it. Perhaps i will have to buy another one. Thank you.

If it happened before using that card, were you still saving videos to some other SD card, or to Internal Storage?

I took a video before i put a card in it, and have used 2 different cards with the same result. It may play the video
1 or several times, but eventually it will tell me the file type is not supported. This usually happens within a day.

So yesterday I went to Best Buy and picked this up for $18.01 with tax, took 2 videos and several pictures last night and so far no issues. Hopefully the Micro SD card was my problem.

I only use sandisk! Bad experiences with other brands corrupting & losing everything on it.

Is your new card still working?, Even the pics save and then dissapear. I honestlly think one can NOT buy electronics or software on line, ebay def the worst, Amazon no better. Its all counterfiet chinese crap. Everything I ever purchased on line has been some kind of defective.
