I bought my G3 8 weeks ago for £529 ($831) from o2 in Edinburgh, UK. I was in o2 today and it's dropped to £419 ($658) Anyone across the pond notice a price drop in such a short time. :-(

That's why I always shop for phones, computers, and tablets 6-8 months after they come out. I don't really need the latest high end gadgets on the day they come out. Waiting 6 months and saving $200 on a flagship phone or a high end laptop works for me, as the specs will still be great and the device will still be able to do everything I need it to do for another 2 years (though in reality I never keep phones for longer than a year).

I just bought my LG G3 on Saturday for $550. Ok, so I wasn't the first one to get my hands on one, but the savings feel great!

Yes, this is common whenever a new generation of phones ship. In the past 8 weeks, the Moto X, Droid Turbo, Nexus 6, Z3, Z3C, and Galaxy Note 4 all came out. The older phones all see a drop in price, and since LG is a bit less popular than HTC and Samsung, LG G3 dropped faster. If you're looking for a good deal on a fairly new flagship such as the LG G3, right around now is the best time to buy!

I bought the phone on contract. Used a promo at Best Buy and only paid $50+tax for the phone. This was, I believe, the weekend of it's launch.

Bought mine a week after launch. With price matching plus selling my s3 to them for $50 I got the phone for free. Always buy my phones at Best Buy.

Back on our side of the pond, I was very lucky with my Lumia 1020, which overnight dropped from £550 to £380. If I'd bought it just a bit earlier....
Sometimes you hardly dare buy a phone for fear that the price will drop just AFTER you've bought.

The one thing you can be certain of is that any tech item you buy today is going to be cheaper later. If that really bothers you, then don't buy current generation products. The G2 is probably not going to see many price reductions, except when it goes on sale.

Well it serves us right. We're i.d.i.o.t.s.
(I'm in a bad mood because of hard-to-fix or seemingly unfixable problems with my Nexus 5 following the Lollipop update, and am mindful that the G3 itself is heading towards Lollipop. I don't want BOTH my Androids Lollipopped if there are going to be problems. Though I trust that Google are working on the N5 bugs.)

Wanna be the first kid on the block with latest and the greatest.....there's a price to pay.
On the the other hand, some great deals on the N5, S4, M8, iPhone5, etc......

Or pay for an N6, Droid Turbo, Note 4, etc and be "the man" again... until like March.

Having Lollipop on my G3 is gonna have to be enough to stroke my ego for awhile. 😀
