Hey guys,

I've been reading a bunch of articles here and there and apparently the G3 still hasn't got the date for 5.1/5.1.1.
Do you think they will update it at all? Are they waiting for 5.2? Any ideas/news/speculations on when will we get a next update on this otherwise great phone? :)

Cheers.

I read somewhere that LG G3 will go directly to Android M. I do not know why or when but that is what I read.

A small update this fall at least for the Verizon model, to fix the WiFi sync bug. No update to 5.1, and the update to M is pure speculation from some websites.

I have also read somewhere that the G3 will go straight to Android M and skip the 5,1 update. Not too sure, though.

TMO is not the most trustworthy of carriers. The fact it took em this long to out 5.0.1, I wouldn't be surprised if we go straight to Muffin-errr... Android M. The G3 is a fairly popular phone, so we should be safe for the while. That's my hope at any rate. After the Lumia 810 fiasco, I don't have too much trust, but happily we can always root if need be.

Don't get me wrong, I am very happy with my G3 running 5.0 at the moment. I just hope it won't be left behind when Android M hits the market and everything goes there but this great phone. It would be sad indeed but I have my hopes. :)

I suspect the device getting 5.1...possibly M. We'll no more as M is officially released and timeframes provided for the G4. The G4 will likely be the priority before the G3; however, I can see the G3 being updated to M in the distant future.

Remember the G3 was just the flagship a year ago and LG is already not keeping it updated. That doesn't say much for LG.

The G3 will skip Android 5.1 as a whole and will jump straight to Android M (Android 5.2??)

It isn't really new. HTC did the same when they skipped 4.2.2 on the M7 and jumped straight to Android 4.3.

LG should be more transparent about updates, and I hope they will soon.

(If you look at my signature, all my phones run Lollipop, so I know how it's like to use it on different devices)

Well I guess we are about to see this :) I really hope to keep using the G3 for another two years with the stock OS instead of flashing a custom ROM. :)
