LG G3 Verizon - Lost ability to edit contacts?

How do I edit my contacts?

There is no menu item to "edit" contacts in my generic contact app. Has it gone missing? I don't remember the last time using it. I don't have this "People's" app. I've failed to find a solution searching the Internet in the last hour+.

Did I accidentally set a security setting to block editing of contacts?
Is this a common issue related to the latest Android update?
Will I have to install another contacts app?

Contact Menu items I do have (3 vertical dots):

Refresh
Delete
Join
Set as default
Add to Home screen
All calls to voice mail __

Try pulling individual contacts if on phone.. If using Google/Gmail you can edit contacts on the Web browser on your computer or mobile Web

Yes, I've gone to individual contacts, and the above menu items are all I'm given. I've also failed to find where you edit contacts through Google/Gmail. I would need specific step-by-step directions on that.
 
Don't you have a pencil symbol to tap next to the 3 verticle dots(menu)

Nope, no pencil symbol. And I've been playing with this thing a bunch to figure it out. I restarted the phone too.
 
Ok, I just discovered something. Contacts that seem to have been pulled from a Facebook sync (both with or without phone numbers) don't have the ability to edit, but my other contacts do - the pencil edit icon shows for these.

Is there a better contacts app out there that can replace my default app to solve these issues?
