I've just bought a new LG G4 international version. After updating it to Marshmallow, when plugging in an USB OTG, ES File Explorer still can recognize and show it in the disk list. But when copying any files from internal as well as sdcard to the USB OTG, the error popup shows "Copying task failed". Is anybody encountering same problem, and is there any solution for this? Feeling disappointed as I frequently use USB OTG to transfer files from phone out.
Thanks in advance

P/S: Not only problem of copying files, but ES Explorer also shows nothing in USB OTG even there are some files exist in it.

No problem with my T-Mobile version and ES File Explorer. I did have to grant it permission for access to the sd card. Internal memory didn't require permission to write to it.

Thanks for your reply, tardus. Could you please show me how to grant such permission, as my phone did not ask anything when I plug in the USB.
Even with my SD card, my phone can save photo taken with camera in it, and I can copy and move any files between it and internal memory using ES Explorer, but with other apps such as Doc and Sheet, I am not allowed to save created files in it.

I get a popup in ES File Explorer to give permission. Then I select the folder on the SD card and am able to copy.

Thanks tardus, mine also got same popup for writing to sd card in ES Explorer, then after following the instruction, I successfully write to it, but when using Doc and Sheet apps, I could not save to it and no popup for asking permission. Another problem is that I couldn't write to USB OTG, even with ES Explorer

I'm still wondering if there is anybody here who can use USB OTG after updating to Marshmallow, or only my phone encounters such problem.
Thanks everyone for reading.

It's showing up in ES Explorer with the brand name of USB, but when reading, it shows nothing although there are some images contained in it.
And it's impossible to write to it.

Oo Couple of questions

1) Have you tried using the stock File Manager to see USB contents instead of ES Explorer?

2) What is your USB formatted as? NTFS or FAT32? (Right click on a computer and choose properties to find out file system)

3) Brand name of OTG adapter and flash drive

Thanks very much for your concern, @TheChosenDoge
1) Stock File Manager could not even recognise the USB, while ES File Explorer recognise it but could not see the files in it.
2) I know this and checked before plug the USB in, it's formated in FAT32 as required.
3) My USB OTG is the Kingston 8G USB OTG 2.0 with two ends (1 for normal USB and 1 for MicroUSB), so I don't need to use OTG adaptor. I also tried with another normal USB using with Buffalo OTG adaptor, but same problem happened.

Very happy to inform that problem solved after I format the USB on computer again in FAT32.
Now it's possible to read and write in stock File Manager as well as ES File Explorer.
Anyway, thanks @TheChosenDoge again for your idea about the format type of my USB.

You're welcome :)

Sometimes all you need to do is start over from the beginning :D

Rep:try using other file manager apps or use the default file manager.
