Android Central Question

My lg g4 is guzzling power. I looked at the energy consumed in the battey monitor and did some basic math and it didn't add up. The screen used 43% of the energy and consumed 87 mah. The phone was at 82% so 43% of 18% of my battery is 540 mah. 43% of that is roughly 230 mah. Basically the screen consumed 87 mah but the percentages say that it used 230 mah. Is my battery going bad or does the battery sensor need re calibration?

Did it used to give better battery life? Have you noticed a change? What sort of screen-in time do you get, after charging to 100% and using normally to about 40%?

What I actually mean is screen-on time, but my fingers had other ideas.

That is, the total time for which the screen has been on during that period of use. But since you say that the battery life was once better, that is no longer relevant.

I’ll move the thread to the G4 forum for suggestions.

Heres how much power the screen used. Netflix claims that it used 10 percent but it used 79 mah, which doesnt make sense.
Edit: I haven't used Netflix today.

The big beautiful screen of the LG G4 does suck up lots of power, especially on games and movies.

My G4 was always at 45-60 % of the power usage. Any app that lets you pick a dark background will help.

Depends on how long it took to use 66% of the battery.
2 hours -- there is a problem somewhere
6 hours -- probably not bad for heavy use

Its usually closer to 2 hours when I watch videos or play world of tanks blitz (its a power consuming game, but it just burns through battery) even when the brightness is below 50%. I will get some screenshots of the battery usage tomorrow.

Here are some screenshots showing percentage usage and time usage. My battery was almost half drained in 2 hours. The screen was below 50% brightness.

Anyone ever figure this out?
I recently purchased a new G4, even replaced the battery, and still can barely get 4 hours out of it!
I'm about to cut my losses and toss it, but maybe someone figured out a solution???

Without root or utilizing ADB commands, many users will never get to the bottom of what's killing their battery. I advise you learn how to output, then read a log or dumpfile. It will tell you exactly what is wrong alongside a little research.

The answers are right in your device in a certain folder. Be your own technician. It will save you headaches.

I grew tired of guessing/ returning/ switching/ warranty replacing/ factory resetting phones, so I put time aside and fixed issues myself by reading my devices' dump files.

I have found Android to be a system of compromise. Having all features/ apps enabled 24/ 7 will ruin the experience eventually for many.

Careful app selection and selective use of features opposed to 'Everything On 24/7' is good for Google, but not your battery.
