LG G5 - Change emergency alert notification / ringtone

[Android Central Question]

Hello all -

Is there a way to change the alert tone without disabling the alert itself?

I don't want to disable it, I just want to change the notification sound.

Welcome to Android Central! I doubt it. Something like that is probably mandated to be standardized.

Yes - you get one very annoying, very loud tone and level. (Of course, if the notice was "There's a tornado in your area", you'd want it to be loud and annoying.)

On my G5, the alert honored my ringtone and notification volume, which was set to vibrate only. I was pleased.
