I apologize in advance for the vague description of the phone - at the moment I can't turn it on to check specific software. I can say that it's on the most recent android version.

Anyway, I've been having some issues with my LG G5 for about a month. It began after I dropped my phone and the battery came out (oops); when I next went to plug in my phone to charge it (using the original charger), it came up with slow charging (not just not fast charging, but it said it was charging slowly). I refitted my battery and that seemed to work.

Well, seemed to work for a while - a few weeks later, out of the blue, it started slow charging again. This time refitting the battery didn't help. Occasionally - seemingly for no reason - it would begin to fast charge for a random amount of time; I started turning it off to charge it, and it charged okay (not too quickly, but it did charge). That was until last night where my phone - despite being off and charging - lost 13% of battery. I have no idea what could have caused this.

I have tried a lot of things to get my phone working, none of which have worked:

- Charging using different wires/chargers. I used three different ones with no change. Also, tried different plugs and houses

- Booting in safe mode. Seemed to work for a while, but went back to broken after half an hour

- Swapping the bottom of the phone with a new bottom. No change

- Swapping the battery. It said the battery wasn't valid (it wasn't LG official), but for the short time the phone was on it still said charging slowly.

The phone doesn't seem to lose power any quicker when it's actually on - this just seems to be a charging issue.

Any ideas on what could be wrong or how to fix it would be appreciated :)

I'm not sure; when replacing the bottom of the phone, that also replaced it's original USB port - I would have thought that'd sort out the issue if the port was broken. I've tried with other chargers too, just in case it's my charger that's broken, but that doesn't seem to do anything either.

As a quick update, I tried totally resetting the phone and that didn't work; I think there must be a hardware problem deeper within the phone.

The exact same thing just happened to me! I had no problems charging the phone until a few days ago when my phone installed an update. Now, if I plug it up if won't charge. I have to reboot the phone (while it's plugged up, mind you) and then it will charge. But it won't do the fast charge like it used to do. Now it takes about 2 hours to fully charge.

I tried about 3 different cords and adapters and nothing works. I'm wondering if it's the battery or if the update is the culprit. Like I said, it didn't start until I updated it.
